Hmm well I use the "big three" the most for print work: Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark.
My favorite currently is Illustrator, which will tie in nicely to Flash work for vector graphics. "e"

o_O Jasc PSP isn't among the "big three"? LOL I'm such a newbie cuz I've never heard of the big three or Quark. But Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are supposed to be great for CGing, though PSP is still my favorite for web graphics. I found photoshop confoozling when I tried it.

::grins:: Well the big three I mentioned is for print graphic design. It's different for web graphics only. Web it might be Photoshop, Flash, then either Dreamweaver or GoLive, and either ImageReady or Fireworks. But of course that would change if you want to do multi media sites and also if you are the designer doing the front and back end stuff and have to do programming... basically I guess there is no official Big Three for web ::chuckles::
But, sorry, Paint Shop Pro is generally not used professionally in either print or web "e"

How do you find Corel compared to Freehand? Is the interface similar at all? I've used Freehand 8 and like it, I'm not sure how the newer version is though.

PhotoShop and ImageExtractor... | ||
|
I've used both corel and photoshop. Each has its own strengths. I like corel for graphics and photoshop more for things that have more text in them. I also use ImageExtractor 2002 which is a freeware program. It grabs images en masse from websites and displays them. It's handy for getting ideas. You can find it at download.com.com and search for "ImageExtractor". |
