I'm looking to spend not more than $300 on a color printer. I've only used an inkjet before so I don't have much experience to go by. I've been looking at the HP LaserJet 1000, which is $275. I'm going to be using it to print out some photos, but also designs, like newsletters for proofs. It's not going to be my primary printer. I'll still use my good old hp b&w for the bulk of my stuff.
Do you think it's money better spent to get a $300 ink jet printer? If so, can anyone recommend a type you like. I've heard the Canon's are good. Consumer Reports rated the Canon Color Bubble Jet S520 highly. It's only around $150.
